Ubuntu installation

We are going to install the laptops together with the help of the mentors, and some students who have already done the process may join us, too :)

For reference, here are the most basic installation steps needed to get a working Ubuntu installation:

Installing Ubuntu according to these slides will erase all data from your destination drive, so you might want to install the OS (operating system) next to another OS (e.g., Windows or MacOS). The steps required to achieve such setup are different and can be different on actual machines, you can use your best friend, Google, to get help getting to this kind of environment. That’s why we recommend doing a “clean” Ubuntu installation, it causes the less trouble and it is the quickest.
